Antique and vintage lamps, chandeliers, light fittings, clocks and other powered items may contain older components or wiring. Their age and appearance do not establish that they are safe or compliant for present-day use.
Check the Individual Product Description
Testing, rewiring, restoration and certification vary from item to item. Unless the individual product description expressly states otherwise, customers should not assume that an electrical item:
- Has been tested or inspected by a licensed electrician.
- Has been rewired or fitted with current components.
- Complies with current Australian electrical requirements.
- Is ready to connect to power or install.
Before Installation or Use
Electrical items should be inspected and, where necessary, installed or repaired by an appropriately licensed electrician before connection or use. Hard-wired lighting should be installed by a licensed electrician.
Do not use an item if wiring, plugs, fittings, insulation or components appear damaged, deteriorated or unsuitable.
Globes, Shades and Other Components
Globes, shades, ceiling plates, chains, mounting hardware and other components are included only where stated or shown as part of the sale. Customers should confirm what is included and whether additional parts or professional installation will be required.
Measurements and Installation Planning
Before ordering a chandelier or light fitting, consider ceiling height, item weight, mounting requirements, access and the suitability of the intended location. Measurements are approximate; contact us if a particular dimension is critical.
Clocks and Mechanical Items
Mechanical and battery-operated items may require adjustment, servicing or specialist setup after transport. A statement that an item was operating when inspected is not a guarantee of uninterrupted future performance unless an express written warranty is provided.
