An elegant 19th-century French bureau plat desk in richly figured rosewood, finished with gilt-bronze or ormolu mounts and a three-section tooled leather writing surface. Designed to present beautifully from either side, it combines formal Parisian character with a generous practical workspace and discreet drawer storage.

Description
The desk carries matching decorative treatment to both faces, allowing it to stand confidently away from a wall in a study, library, office or formal room. Functional drawers are positioned to one side, while the opposite face maintains the balanced decorative appearance.
Identification & Detail
French and dating to the 19th century, the desk combines rosewood, ormolu decoration and a tooled leather top. The photographs show the timber grain, leather surface, mounts, handles, drawer arrangement and construction details.
