A fine Empire mahogany console hall table, dating to circa 1820, featuring a polished black marble top, beautifully figured mahogany veneers and elegant gilt bronze mounts.
The table has a single frieze drawer fitted with its original key and decorative tassel. Please note the key is included; however, the lock is no longer functioning and the drawer does not lock.
Supported by four turned column legs with gilt bronze capitals and collars, the table is finished with a shaped lower shelf, providing both practical storage and display space. The rich mahogany veneers have developed a warm patina over time, highlighting the quality of the craftsmanship.
This versatile piece would make an impressive addition to an entrance hall, living room or dining room and is equally suited to displaying lamps, decorative objects or artwork.
Presented in very good antique condition, with minor signs of age and use consistent with a piece dating from the 1820s.
