Impressive Vintage Mid-Century Bitossi Italian Terra Cotta Lamp Base & Shade

A large and impressive Vintage Mid-Century Bitossi Italian terra cotta lamp base and shade. Incised repeating geometric terra cotta pattern creates a tactile element which is incorporated with stunning shining thick yellow glaze to create the sculptural form of the base. 

55 cm up to the Bakelite electrical fitting 

64 cm to the top of the electrical fitting 

35 cm diameter at the roundest point 

75 cm in height incorprating the shade

Inscribed on the base is the number is the number "2320 base made in Italy."

This piece is presented in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The glaze retains a magnificent rich and lustrous finish. This lamp is in good working order with an Australian plug.
