Vintage Silver "800" Modernist Bracelet set with Cabochon Turquoise. Maker ORNO Warsaw.

Unusual vintage continental silver (800) modernist bracelet 8 panels set with cabochon turquoise.  Marked Orno.  Warsaw.  A real statement piece.  The Polish cooperative Orno existed in Warsaw from 1949 to the 1980s. The beginning was made in difficult times for the country when jewellery was not included in the range of people’s needs. It was a creative cooperative of master jewellers founded by Romuald Ricnicki.  Romuald trained his artisans as craftsmen and artists at the same time. The team attended special classes and excursions. All members of the cooperative were excellent designers. The word Orno is taken from the Latin language and translated as “to preen”, “to elevate”, or “to extol”. The cooperative specialized in producing silver jewellery. one ring could cost an entire salary.
